Discover The Very Human Blog
What began as a rough-cut guide to studying humanity has evolved into a space for stories that step beyond theory and linger in the contradictions, frustrations, and unexpected joys of social science research.
As I move into journalism, I’m carrying anthropology’s sharpest tools with me: a methodological and hermeneutic instinct to keep a foot wedged in every debate, to probe further, and to resist easy answers.
I hold on, too, to the discipline’s self-reflective muscle: examining not just the world, but the position one occupies within it - and how that colours experience, sensation, and understanding.
This blog aims to unsettle assumptions, sharpen curiosity, and celebrate the beautifully untidy nature of being human.
Whether you’re a student, academic, journalist, or simply an attentive observer, I hope you find something here that stays with you.
And to the right, some of my favourite humans!
